The man who still guides my thoughts.

I was in 7th grade when my grandfather was diagnosed with prostate cancer. While I didn't really know what that meant at the time; I can say that it was the first time I had ever seen my dad physically show his emotions. Grandpa was given 6 months to live, but by some miracle he was able to stretch that into about 6 years. Many MANY good times happened in that 6 years and while I cant speak for him, I'm pretty sure he would say the same.

I still hold mixed feelings about being told my name was on Grim's list. We would all like to think were living life to it's fullest, but I can assure you that if I was given "the news"; I would be changing some things.

I'm proud to say that with people's generosity, the mortality rate of most cancers has gone down a lot since then. Who knows; maybe in my lifetime they will figure out how to prevent or even cure every cancer! But a cure for one type will certainly bring us that much closer to a cure for others.
